Just In! Senator Gbenga Aluko slumps, dies in Abuja

Senator Gbenga Aluko, a former governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, has died suddenly. He was 58 years old.

The Ekiti-born politician reportedly died Saturday evening in Abuja. He had no prior illness, reported Progress FM, in Ado Ekiti.

According to the report, citing his aide, Aluko was rushed to hospital after he suddenly collapsed in his office. He was certified dead in hospital.

Aluko, son of renowned economist, Professor Sam Aluko, was a senator representing Ekiti-South
on the PDP platform between 1999 and 2003.

He was born on 20 July 1963.
